Lighting Consultant – Power Design Inc.

 

The Lighting Consultant is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing lighting packages within established client budgets and parameters.  Lighting Consultant will also define a project’s estimating strategy, and fixture selections for cost savings, obtain quotes, provide accurate pricing, and recommend a selection of alternate fixtures when applicable, prepare and present submittal packages to clients, participate in design meetings, and advise on energy code compliance and general lighting codes.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Produce accurate, efficient and competitive quotations utilizing internal and external distribution sources.
  • Conduct ongoing analyses of fixture packages to identify opportunities and provide suggestions for optimal product and pricing selections.
  • Provide excellent customer service, attending client meetings during all phases of the project life cycle and assisting in the selection and approval process while remaining budget-conscious.
  • Create and submit thorough fixture submittal packages based on customer requests.
  • Act as a liaison between the estimating, engineering, operations departments and the distribution center.
  • Handoff approved lighting packages and pricing to lighting project managers for procurement.
  • Assist in resolving any in construction technical issues or coordination issues.
  • Maintain the fixture package pricing throughout the project life cycle with a focus on remaining in budget per contract award and scope.
  • Represent the company in a positive manner with clients, vendors, partner businesses, and other industry contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in lighting and project quotations, distribution quotations or other related experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with product line and pricing, as well as knowledge and understanding of the bid process, required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in plan reading and take-offs required.
  • Ability to multitask in a high volume, fast paced work environment with very tight deadlines.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook required.
