Position Summary:

This position will be based out of Lumetta’s Headquarters in Warwick, RI.

Establishing and maintaining relationships with representative agencies, specifiers and distributors through travel. Arranging for the production of and delivery of product samples, working with quotations and customer service, keeping the management informed on industry trends and recommending new product development.

OVERALL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Have excellent knowledge of Lumetta products and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with Sales Agents, in assigned territories.
  • Develop and execute engaging sales presentations to lighting designers, engineers, architects, distributors and end users.
  • Ability to strategically plan sales calls, execute as planned and follow up as promised.
  • Develop and maintain potential customer lists.
  • Support and execute corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Attend regional and national trade shows, as directed.
  • Responsible for the development of REP Agency training, and our continued product education programs for others, as needed.
  • Maintains communication with all related departments within the company to inform them of customer preferences per job and site requirements to ensure production of correct product, as required.
  • Responsible for staying informed on market trends via professional organization memberships, research, and attendance at continued education programs.
  • Gather market intelligence and competitive information.
  • Develops and maintains territory reporting on sales activity.
  • Responsible for maintaining contracts for assigned territories, maintaining accuracy and clarity.
  • Fiscally responsible with sales budget allocations, and sales promotional material.

Specific Responsibilities and Assigned Tasks:

  • Maintains personal relationships with assigned agencies by traveling to their locality.  
  • Contributes to annual sales goals.
  • Responsible for communicating Lumetta’s policies & procedures, and introduction of new product to assigned Agencies.
  • Special Project management, as needed.

 

RELATED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or lighting sales experience
  • Ability to sell both standard and custom lighting product in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • Excellent communication skills as represented by a polite and respectful demeanor.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sales, within Lighting Industry required.
  • In-depth knowledge of lighting industry terms and definitions, a plus.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Complete comfort standing and speaking before 10-50 people including designers, architects, specifiers, and engineers.
  • Positions requires overnight travel, up to 50%, by all modes, at all times of the year.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds during travel assignments.
  • Ability to schedule and organize trips to agencies.  
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Professional appearance.
  • General understanding of electrical manufacturing practices and principles.
  • Experience with automated accounting programs, operations systems, and customer service management software.
  • Technology proficiency: Google,  Microsoft Office, Outlook
  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material.
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
