Light + Building Video Series: Philips, LEDVANCE, Seoul, McWong, Casambi

A few companies joined us in our studio today in the Foyer of Hall 4.2 and discussed a few of their key product launches:

Ed Huibers of Philips Lighting (Signify) did a great job of explaining their new LiFi system.  We are personally excited to have Philips enter this important arena as we believe they will substantially increase adoption and help this technology go mainstream.   Philips also gave us a tour of their booth and they have many exciting products.  Details of those products later in the week.

Andreas Weisl, President, Europe for Seoul Semiconductor explained Sunlike.   By removing the blue LED light source and replacing it with a purple light LED chip. Seoul Semiconductor is bringing the closest light to the sun to market.  Objects lit by SunLike appear as they would in sunlight.

Stephen Zhou from McWong International explained the huge progress they are making with Bluetooth Mesh. They have a partnership with Silvair, a company that we interviewed at LuxLive in November.  Watch this video to learn why EdisonReport is so bullish on Bluetooth Mesh.

Casambi Technologies is an interesting company and we sat down with their Director of Product Marketing, Doug Paton.  Casambi has been using Bluetooth for many years and they have 110 companies at Light + Building displaying their various controls technology.

LEDVANCE‘s Erol Kırılmaz stopped by and explained the huge growth their company has seen in the past two years since changing their name from Sylvania.  They are now in the Top 10 in Sales in Europe and moving fast to gain share in North America.
