Lightovation 2022: New Collections, Big Celebrations for the Lighting Event of the Summer

DALLAS – May 10, 2022 – Lightovation, the largest residential lighting trade event in North America, has announced details for the June 22-25, 2022 edition of its twice annual show. The summer show will feature new collections, insightful events, and epic celebrations across a 1 million square foot lighting marketplace.

Pre-registration is now available for the show, which officially opens on Wednesday, June 22, by visiting www.dallasmarketcenter.com/lightovation. By pre-registering buyers will receive a FastPass email for contactless, quick entry into the show.

Lightovation Exhibitor News and Events

New showrooms debuting for June include:

  • Acrosentec has joined the marketplace in TM 4028.
  • Zeev Lighting has expanded and relocated to TM 4303.
  • In the Spectrum shared showroom (TM 4432), new exhibitors include Arnsberg (space 23), GE Lighting (space 14), and Jach Lighting (space 06) joining January arrivals Aptations (space 12), Social Lighting (space 01) and Verozza (space 21).

Debuting in January but worth a look in June are the following arrivals and collections:

  • New, renovated and/or expanded showrooms including Avenue Lighting (TM 3521), Maxim Group (TM 3901/3905), Norwell Manufacturing Company (TM 3321), Schonbek (TM 4926), Wind River Ceiling Fans (TM 4517), Hudson Valley Lighting Group (TM 3902) and Quorum (TM 3004, 3111).
  • Jeffery Alan Marks debuted a follow-up collection for Progress Lighting (TM 3840); Maxim Group (TM 3901/3905) welcomed a new collaboration with Nina Magon for Studio M and another designer collaboration with Mat Sanders; Kalco Lighting (TM 3303) introduced an exciting new collection with interior designer Vanessa De Leon; and Taylors – Visual Comfort & Tech Lighting (IHDC 1D111) welcomed several new collections worth seeing in June: surface design company Hable at Taylors, lighting designs from Avroko, Kelly Wearstler, Mick De Giulio, and Sean Lavin for Tech Lighting and Visual Comfort introduced lighting from designer Paloma Contreras.

Trend Displays and Presentation

Lightovation will once again present its comprehensive 2022 trend report encompassing major directions in home decor, architecture, building and remodeling and how they will impact lighting. The printed report, which debuted in January, is exclusive for Lightovation attendees to pick up and will be accompanied by new, on-site displays illustrating updated aspects of the trends. To support the report and displays, award-winning trend ambassador Patti Carpenter will present the trends from the report with new information after her research at recent European shows. That seminar will take place Wednesday, June 22 at 10 a.m. on the Trade Mart 4th floor North Lobby stage, in the expansion area.

Seminars and Special Events

On Wednesday, June 22 at 2 p.m. interior design duo Kandrac + Kole will be discussing design challenges they face in lighting and how both of them go about solving them. The seminar will take place on the Trade Mart 4th floor North Lobby stage, in the expansion area.

Three seminars will be offered on Thursday, June 23 from the American Lighting Association in the SMART Center (TM 4826).

10 a.m. What’s New in Smart Home and Integrated Home Awards Recognition.

Join ALA Director of Engineering Terry McGowan and Chloe Mayhew from the Consortium for Energy Efficiency as they present the latest trends in smart home products that emerged from entries in the 2021 Integrated Home Competition. Learn more about the winning products and the directions they represent in this growing category.

12 p.m. Fundamentals and Advanced Applications of Smart Home and Lighting Controls Integration.

Showroom of the Year Awards

Join Dallas Market Center and Furniture, Lighting & Décor magazine as we celebrate the 2022 Showroom of the Year Award Winners. The annual awards program, now celebrating its 13th year, takes place on Wednesday, June 22 at 6 p.m. on the Trade Mart 4th floor expansion area. Each year, showrooms are judged on a number of criteria, including merchandising display, marketing and advertising, customer service and engagement, employee education and motivation, and community involvement. Five Showroom of the Year finalists are named in each of three dollar-volume categories, with one winner announced in each category during Lightovation. All finalists are also eligible for specialty awards in the areas of merchandising display, community involvement and social media.

A celebration for life for lighting icon Harry Kallick will take place immediately following Showroom of the Year in the same area. The event, hosted by Varaluz, begins at 7 p.m.

Light Stars

The Light Stars are top retail salespeople who excel in their industry and desire to gain more knowledge and deepen their professional relationships by experiencing, Lightovation. Honorees accepted into the Light Stars program receive airfare and two nights of hotel accommodations during the June show. For this year, there are a total of 52 Light Stars, representing 24 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces. Lighting After Dark

On Thursday, June 23, beginning at 8:00 p.m., Dallas Market Center, Lightovation exhibitors and the American Lighting Association bring you the party of the summer: Lighting After Dark. Enjoy live music from Danni & Kris, food and drink, plus prizes. All Lightovation attendees, exhibitors and reps are welcome to attend this free event within walking distance of DMC—just bring your badge to Renaissance Dallas Hotel – City View (4th floor) for entry.

ALA Booth and Entertainment

The American Lighting Association will have a booth on the 4th floor of the Trade Mart atrium and will promote its fall conference as well as membership benefits. Receptions for ALA’s Women in Lighting and Young Executives groups will take place in this area, with acoustic music performances enhancing these events. The ALA Conference will take place September 11-13 in Austin.

Spark Magazine: Summer Issue

More than 50,000 customers receive the latest issue of Spark magazine, the pre-market publication highlighting new exhibitors, trends, and insights from makers and influencers. The cover story focuses on new ways to buy and sell with a focus on social selling. Also inside the issue is a lighting trend story focusing on industrial and nature-inspired lighting.
