Position: Product Development Sourcing Coordinator

Reports to the Chief Executive Officer

Job Location: Chicago, IL

Job Type: Full-Time

The Product Development Sourcing Coordinator works with the CEO to transform concept sketches into shippable products. You will be a key member of a cross-functional team to manage every step of the product lifecycle from concept development through production.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product workflows
  • Assist in developing product roadmaps
  • Establish task and product milestones during the entire development process
  • Monitor all phases of new product development and help to resolve roadblocks
  • Work with Purchasing, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate procurement and assembly of product samples for various purposes including testing, photography, and trade shows by working directly with vendors
  • Provide estimated launch dates for product families
  • Provide cost analysis during various stages of development
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for new products/features and identify poor performing products
  • Proofread print and electronic product literature
  • Lead product-related tasks for trade shows, showroom displays and sales rep sample cases
  • Serve as a company-wide resource for product questions and information
  • Assist in product pricing as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and be self-motivated
  • Must speak and write English proficiently
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Project Management or related field
  • 3+ years of Product Management and/or Project Management experience in manufacturing environment
  • 1-2 years of Purchasing or Supply Chain-related experience is a plus
  • Lighting manufacturing experience a plus
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and properly manage change
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team without formal authority
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience in manufacturing organizations which produce or assemble products
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to read CAD drawings
  • Prior experience with Epicor 9.0 or above, Oracle or other MRP system
  • Smartsheet Project Manager knowledge or willing to learn
  • Strong Excel skills expanding beyond pivot tables & VLOOKUP’s
