The EdisonReport has received comments from SESCO’s John Palk on Eric Rondolat’s decision to step down from Signify in April.
Read below.
“Our last 13 years with Eric at the helm have been ones of innovation, change and adaptation.
The lighting industry during that period went through the mass adoption to LED lighting, which under Eric’s direction, Philips/Signify has been the leader of.
Additionally, the beginning and continued global adoption of “Smart Cities” technology, through Signify’s platform Interact, came under Eric’s leadership.
Certainly COVID presented many challenges for the global community, however what emerged was a more nimble North American leadership team spearheaded by Kevin Poyck, Keith Eagle and Christy Tilton.
Often times the hallmark of good leadership is the talent brought in, and the leadership that’s left in place, once that leader departs.
I believe that Genlyte is in a very strong position within the U.S. market and it’s in large part due to the guidance that Eric has provided, even in the most difficult times.
We wish him the best as he steps down. We believe the U.S. business has and will benefit from the decisions he has made.”
