Sales Manager — LightFair

POSITION SUMMARY

Experienced sales professional responsible for trade show, sponsorship and advertising sales, and exhibitor customer service for LightFair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for exhibit booth sales for LightFair; required to conduct in-person and telephone sales calls to current accounts; generate leads and prospect for new accounts.
  • Field incoming telephone and email inquiries and provide a timely response
  • Assists with the implementation and selling of new categories and initiatives for the show
  • Maintains and updates databases for current accounts and prospects
  • Maintains software systems utilized for management of the show and ensures all records are updated and accurate
  • Assists with space selection process for upcoming show, including priority points and appointment setting
  • Responsible for assigning exhibit booth spaces sold after onsite space selection
  • Identify new and emerging trends that are appropriate to consider for growth of the annual show
  • Maintains and strengthens customer relationships through ongoing engagement with customers via telephone, email and at trade shows and other industry events
  • 20% TRAVEL
    • Required to travel to industry events to prospect for new business, meet with customers and network with industry professionals
  • 10% SALES SUPPORT
    • Reviews the application and approval process for exhibitor visa invitation letter requests
  • Assist with the production and execution of exhibitor-related communications including Exhibitor Prospectus, Sponsorship Information, Newsletters, Registration, Exhibitor Advisory, Virtual Booth, Show Directory and other marketing collateral
  • Assists exhibitors with accounting questions and requests for invoices and statements
  • Conducts research via industry publications, networking events, blogs, social media and other sources to remain knowledgeable and up to date on current trends in the lighting industry, new technologies, regulations and issues faced by customers; as well as best practices and new ideas within the trade show industry

REQUIREMENTS / SUCCESS FACTORS

  • A college degree is required; at least 3 – 5 years related work experience in sales, event planning and/or customer service is required; Tradeshows industry experience is strongly preferred
  • MS Office Products, especially Outlook, Word and Excel. Dynamics CRM and Map Your Show experience desired
  • Exceptional sales skills–the individual prospects customers, explain LightFair’s value and features, and closes sales on the telephone or face-to-face
  • Excellent interpersonal skills—the individual builds relationships with LightFair and industry manufacturers at all levels, prospective candidates, and third-party vendors; has the ability to work with minimal supervision in a professional, courteous manner while demonstrating diplomacy, tact, and discretion
  • Customer service orientation—the individual has a passion for meeting and exceeding the needs of internal and external customers and will be a strong team player
  • Excellent oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, can effectively present information and respond to questions from LightFair customers, and the general public
  • Ability to set and achieve personal sales goals
  • Advanced time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns
