A.L.P. Sells Extruded Sheet and Profile Business to Plaskolite

December 3, 2018 (Niles, IL) -A.L.P. Lighting Components, a leading global manufacturer of LED components and kits, announces today that it has sold its plastic extrusion business to longtime supplier/partner, Columbus, OH-based Plaskolite.  In this transaction, Plaskolite acquires A.L.P.’s extruded smooth and patterned lighting sheet and extruded profile lens product lines, as well as select related manufacturing equipment.

A.L.P.’s LexaLite® brand is the market leader in injection molded lighting optics.  This agreement expands A.L.P.’s ability to focus on, and invest in, this industry leading business. Near term plans include adding injection molding to the company’s Monterrey, Mexico facility by Q3 2019.  A.L.P.’s Charlevoix, MI plant, which recently added a 1650-ton workcell, will be further upgrading equipment to enhance its edgelit panel production capabilities.  Additional moldable optical silicone capacity and an advanced automation cell are also expected to come online in early 2019.  A.L.P.’s Dickson, TN facility will be expanding its injection molding capabilities and adding state-of-the-art automation.   In addition to new proprietary edgelit panels, the LexaLite brand will also be developing a new line of silicone TIR optics for a range of applications.  A.L.P. is also adding additional large steel stamping equipment for its metals product area.

A transition plan for sales and operations is in place to ensure a smooth transfer for A.L.P. customers.
