JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:  SESCO Branch Manager, Knoxville

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt

REPORTS TO:  VP Sales & Marketing

Position Summary:  Responsible for all business processes of the office/division while directing the overall activities of the office/division employees.  Responsible for managerial level support of our customers, manufacturers, and sales people.  Works independently solving complex and difficult problems while managing others as required.  Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish division goals. Must work well with all customers, manufacturers and sales people to provide exceptional support when and wherever necessary. Responsible for development of client relationships and sales.

Position Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of sales to clients including specification sales
  • Must partner with manufacturers, specifiers, and clients
  • Make weekly sales calls to all assigned specifiers and clients
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others
  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
  • Responsible for developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers, manufacturers, and outside sales people and maintaining them over time
  • Translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used
  • Works to solve and resolve customer problems
  • Provides sales support training
  • Maintain profitability by meeting bogies and containing expenses
  • Establish annual budget and bogies with Senior Management
  • Analyze and make timely critical decisions displaying good judgment
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Management

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or 5 to 7 years of related lighting rep agency or distribution experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Significant lighting background required
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Must possess experience in outside lighting sales
  • Must possess experience in project quotations
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Must be proficient on word, excel, outlook, and internet research
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate
