Espen Technology 8’ TLED Recognized with IES Progress Report Inclusion

Espen Technology, a leading manufacturer of indoor LED lighting solutions, was recognized with 2021 IES Progress Report inclusion of its, first-to-market, 8’ TLED lamp solution that utilizes two 4’ segments.  As part of the Uniflex family of Type A+B hybrid lamps, this 8’ TLED eliminates virtually all 8’ TLED lamp breakage during shipping, by combining two 4’ segments to make an 8’ lamp.

The annual IES Progress Report recognizes significant new advancements in lighting products from the past year. It highlights major developments in the art and science of lighting, throughout the world. Inclusion is based on an impartial judging process to evaluate each submission’s uniqueness, innovation and significance to the lighting industry.

Espen’s novel 8’ TLED approach consolidates lamp stocking to reduce inventory costs for distributors and contractors, by eliminating 8’ TLED inventories and using 4’ TLED segments.  This lamp also is provided with caps that makes it suitable for use in single pin as well as HO sockets. Additionally, this Uniflex 8’ solution requires less storage space, using 4’ long boxes, instead of 8’ long boxes.

This 8’ TLED solution can operate in Type A (electronic ballast compatible) mode, as well as Type B (line voltage, 120-277VAC) mode. Further, if the fluorescent ballast dies while powering the lamp in the A mode, the bad ballast can be bypassed with line voltage run to the tombstones, and the lamps can continue to operate, without replacing or removing the fluorescent ballast.

This Type A+B, 8’ lamp solution is offered in 3600 lumen and 5500 lumen packages, as well as CCTs of 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K.  They come with an ultra-wide beam angle of 325 degrees and a 50,000 rated life.

“Espen is very proud to have this 8’ TLED solution recognized by the IES Progress Report,” stated Flemming Jensen, SVP of Sales & Marketing at Espen Technology.  Jensen added, “This product is an industry first and virtually eliminates freight claims for broken 8’ lamps.”
