The ballast and lamp combination delivers an occupancy sensor-compatible, high-efficacy system with a much-improved lifespan compared to existing T8 systems. The Ultra Long Life T8 System features PrecisionStart™ technology. Espen engineers have developed a proprietary version of programmed start technology, allowing an “instant-on” start up. Elite II™ ballasts with PrecisionStart™ technology illuminate lamps in less than 0.8 seconds while prolonging lamp life with precise filament pre-heating. The Elite II™ ballasts feature parallel lamp operation and lamp auto-restrike. In the event that one lamp is removed or fails, all other lamps will remain lit. The ballasts come in 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-lamp configurations and with the ability to be specified in normal, low, or high ballast factor. The ballasts meet NEMA Premium and CEE requirements for efficiency.
Marathon™ Extended Life lamps are designed to perform with a long life span when operated with Espen’s Elite II™ ballasts. When used together, the lamps are rated at up to 60,000 hours of life (tested at 12 hours per start).
Users and implementers will achieve greater ROI and increased cumulative cash flow as energy savings are aggregated over a longer period of time. Operating with programmed start ballasts enables the system to be controlled by occupancy sensors, which minimizes energy costs and provides additional opportunities for utility rebate incentives.
