Lumecon Announces ‘Detroit Series’ Line of LED Lights

Bold design conjures images of the Motor City

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., September 5, 2018 – Lumecon, a manufacturer of high quality and innovative LED lighting, announced today the upcoming release of its “Detroit Series,” an all-encompassing LED lighting series that was designed with the Motor City in mind.

“The story of Lumecon is heavily influenced by the cars and trucks Detroit has been producing for the past 100 years,” said Bob Hahn, president, Lumecon. “The sleek lines of the design are reminiscent of the muscle cars I grew up around, so this line very much has a ‘Detroit’ feel to it.”

The new line of lighting will come in wall packs, area lights and flood options, as well as decorative luminaires. The product is built for cities, municipalities and commercial end users that desire dependability when it comes to their lighting, including industry-leading 20,000-Amp surge suppression built standard into every fixture. This makes the Detroit Series the perfect illumination option for lighting entryways, parking lots and general pedestrian applications.

“We’ve had discussions with potential customers outside of the state that want to be a part of the Detroit story,” added Hahn. “The automotive industry is ingrained in our country’s collective consciousness, so it makes sense we’re seeing interest outside of Detroit.”

The first Detroit Series product to roll off the assembly line is Thirty-Five West, a decorative post-top luminaire that incorporates Lumecon’s patented external heat sink management system built into the aesthetically stylish decorative cage. The product reflects Lumecon’s commitment to supporting Michigan-based companies. The injection molding is done in Charlevoix, Mich.; the casting is completed in Muskegon, Mich., and the final assembly takes place at the company’s headquarters in Farmington Hills, Mich.

“The name of this product is taken from the distance – 35 miles – between the city of Detroit and Ann Arbor, Mich., which is the first community to purchase and install these new lights,” said Hahn.

As with all Lumecon products, the Detroit Series will come standard with a 10-year warranty.
