We have learned that MaxLite has recently filed a number of invalidity challenges to Super Lighting’s patents that form a part of its controversial patent licensing program. See the Press Release here.
MaxLite’s General Counsel, Zvi Raskin, summed it up as follows: “We are not going to be bullied by Jiaxing Super Lighting into signing up for, and legitimizing, their patent license program.” In your humble editor’s opinion, MaxLite needs to be taken seriously. They have engaged the attorneys from Radulescu LLP, the same lawyers who we have written about before in their defenses against patent holders in the LED lighting industry including Philips/Signify, Lighting Science and TOGGLED.
