McWong Collaborates with Partners for Expanding Customer Connectivity Choice in PacWave Smart Sensor Controls

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 2, 2018—McWong International, a leading lighting and controls solutions provider, is pleased to announce collaborative relationships with Bluetooth® mesh networking companies, including Casambi and Silvair, to expand customer choice in its the PacWave® Smart Sensor Control Platform. McWong International will host a Bluetooth partner showcase at LIGHTFAIR® International, Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2018 from 1-4 pm in booth #3979.

The PacWave control platform encompasses a range of occupancy and motion sensors, dimming wall switches and wall switch sensors, dimming power packs, fixture controllers, and mobile apps (Android and iOS) for remote configuration of sensor and dimming settings. It is founded on a patent-pending design for flexible integration of various wireless protocols, including Bluetooth® protocols and other commercially-available wireless control protocols.

McWong’s PacWave solutions fully support the Bluetooth mesh standard that was published by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) in July 2017.  This new mesh networking standard will guarantee cross- vendor interoperability, greatly accelerate the adoption of Bluetooth technology in industrial-grade IoT applications, and enable lighting to function as a smart platform to manage other devices in a building.  In addition, McWong’s PacWave solutions’ patented design could also be adapted to support proprietary Bluetooth mesh platforms and other wireless protocols such as Zigbee, 6LowPan and Thread.  By teaming with multiple Bluetooth software providers, McWong’s PacWave solutions can offer the most comprehensive set of solutions available in the marketplace.

“We are extremely excited to be working with these partners,” says Stephen Zhou, Vice President of McWong International. “Bluetooth connectivity offers a truly future-proof path for lighting control and beyond lighting, the technology is limitless.”

All three companies will be exhibiting at LIGHTFAIR® International, May 8-10, 2018 in Chicago. McWong International will host a Bluetooth partner showcase Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2018 from 1-4 pm in booth #3979. The event will feature live demonstrations of McWong products with each partner’s Bluetooth technology. Representatives from all partner companies will be participating in the Tuesday afternoon event.
