Job Description
The Product Development Manager will manage of all aspects of the product development process from concept to final production and entry into the market
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the development of new products, from concept to final production.
- Work to improve existing product designs
- Communicate with team members and vendors overseas to ensure timely progress during the development process.
- Assist in long term product strategy.
- Offer new product ideas based on market trends and research
- Assist in price negotiations with suppliers during the development process
- Document and organize database of test results and procedures
- Analyze and compare test data for all stages of development to ensure product specifications are met -Conduct quality control procedures on new samples and pilot run production
- Review and manage specification sheets and instruction sheets for all products
- Ensure accuracy of new item order information
- Create new product idea drawings and renderings
- Assist in training other departments on product specifications prior to launch
- Manage product development associates
- Assist in the filing of patents
- Experience with Solidworks, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, GS1, and UL a plus
- Experience in the lighting industry is required
