Los Angeles, CA. (October 8, 2019)-Qantas Airlines has selected Foreverlamp’s HB 5 LED fixture for its World Way West hangar at Los Angeles International Airport. This building is the largest A380 airplane maintenance hangar in the United States. 
The A380 is 80 feet tall, 265 feet wide, 240 feet long, and carries up to 853 passengers. The ceiling of this $70M dollar facility is 120 foot high; a significant challenge to illuminate for night time maintenance operations.
The HB 5 was specifically designed by Foreverlamp for high ceiling mounting applications typical at aerospace facilities and others, such as convention centers. This DLC Premium category fixture weighs a mere 23lbs which is appreciated by the installers working high above ground level. The HB 5 will reduce energy consumption by over 600W per fixture compared to the hangar’s existing HID fixtures. The HB 5 uses only 530W to deliver 76,500 lumens and will more than provide the illumination needed for night time maintenance operations with a better quality of light.
