Seoul Semiconductor Highlights Latest LED Innovations at LEDucation 2018

Seoul will showcase its new SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs, the first LED to closely match the spectrum of natural sunlight.

NEW YORK CITY, NY, March 13, 2018 — Seoul Semiconductor, a global innovator of LED products and technology, will participate in the annual LEDucation conference and exhibit, one of the largest LED-only tradeshows and educational forums in the United States, scheduled for March 13 & 14, 2018 at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York, NY.

In its exhibit at LEDucation 2018, Seoul Semiconductor will feature its latest LED innovations, including the SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs, based on a new technology that produces light closely matching the spectrum of natural sunlight. Introduced in June 2017, the new SunLike Series natural spectrum LED technology was co-developed by Seoul Semiconductor and Toshiba Materials, combining Seoul Semiconductor’s world-class LED chip technology with Toshiba Materials’ TRI-R technology, a leading global phosphor compound.

The company believes that the SunLike Series LEDs represent a revolution in the quality of light by creating natural spectrum lighting in an LED, contributing to healthier life for humans, as well as in horticultural applications to create an ideal environment to help plants grow. Since the SunLike Series LEDs implement spectrum closest to the sunlight, they more accurately represent the color and texture of the object in natural light such as for illuminating fine art paintings in museum settings.

Also on display at ELA will be Seoul’s revolutionary WICOP (Wafer Integrated Chip On PCB) package-less LEDs, which represent a two-generation advance in LED technology, with performance that delivers best in class Color Over Angle, 10% higher brightness, and 20% lower cost than conventional “3535” high power LEDs, enabling radically smaller, lighter, less expensive luminaire designs.

Seoul will showcase its NanoDriver and MicroDriver Series of LED drivers – which feature a unique power topology that results in smaller size, increased efficiency and lower costs – with power densities up to 10X higher than conventional LED drivers. The NanoDriver Series, rated for 16W and 24W, are the industry’s smallest LED drivers at just 13.5mm2.

The MicroDriver Series miniature LED drivers are designed for LED lighting fixtures from 900 to 2400 lumens, with a miniature package that enables the integration of the control circuitry with the external driver, making it possible to mount more light sources on the module, or reduce the size of the module.

Seoul Semiconductor will exhibit in Booth #GB-708 at the LEDucation conference on March 13 from 10:00am – 7:00pm and March 14, 2018 from 9:00am – 4:00pm at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York, NY.

About LEDucation:
Introduced in 2007, LEDucation is the largest LED-only tradeshow and educational forum in the United States. Organized by the Designers Lighting Forum of New York, LEDucation is a leading marketplace for solid-state lighting innovations, giving industry professionals a chance to experience new technologies as well as continue their education through a wide range of AIA/CEU accredited seminars. LEDucation is a non-profit event, and its proceeds help stimulate future LED advancements by supporting a variety of grants, scholarships and lighting programs..
