Updates to Testing Requirements for DC/PoE Luminaires

In order to simplify policy and reduce the amount of testing required of manufacturers, the DLC has revised the Testing and Reporting Requirements for DC and PoE ProductsEffective today, August 15, 2019:

  • Products must only be tested at one voltage instead of two.
  • Non-PoE-based DC products must be tested at the voltage that results in the worst-case efficacy, the same as with traditional AC products.
  • PoE-based DC products must be tested specifically at 45V, or optionally tested at the minimum PD voltage for the specific Type and Class of the product according to the IEEE 802.3 standard.

New Method for Submitting SSL De-listing Requests

If you would like to voluntarily de-list one or more of your products from the SSL QPL, requests must now be submitted through the DLC Application Portal as an SSL De-listing Application. Be sure to select this application type when creating your application in the portal.

The online application will prompt you to do the following:

There will be no change in response and review timelines for de-listing requests. Submitting de-listing requests through the Application Portal will allow you to track your requests much more easily alongside your other DLC product applications.

Note that under the Surveillance Testing Policy, products that are no longer commercially available will be considered a surveillance testing failure and de-listed. Use the new De-listing Application to proactively remove these products from the QPL before surveillance selection occurs.
