The lighting industry has evolved to meet the world’s needs for energy savings and sustainability through integrated lighting solutions that include intelligent lighting, daylighting and controls. Controlling the lighting environment is integral to success. Because technology continues to evolve, dynamic and current training is an essential marketing tool required to keep our internal and external customers aware of new technologies, products and applications.
This role will be responsible for the ongoing creation, development and implementation of Acuity Brands Controls training coursework (eLearning and classroom environments) for Acuity Brands sales channels and customers. This position is located in our Corporate Offices in Conyers, GA.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Create learning tracts with certification outcomes, including metrics to validate understanding. Synthesize existing/new product and application information to create high quality and impactful courseware content for delivery via live classroom and web as well as online self-service. This content will support ongoing product, application, and market learning as well as strategic initiatives targeted at customers, agency partners, and sales channels.
Coordinate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to guarantee the quality development of relevant industry training topics to support brand awareness and growth. This includes the development, management, and registration of formal CEU/AIA and other industry applicable certification content.
Manage the intranet web training portal and BOX online collaboration tool to ensure timely availability of critical training content and resources. Coordinate with Acuity Brands Lighting Center personnel to effectively disseminate and publish LMS managed content.
Facilitate training and support of Controls Division Brand Managers to enable field and web hosted training events.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree plus lighting industry sales, engineering, and/or training experience.
- 3-5 years experience in training development (eLearning/classroom courses) desired. Current with emerging training technology including software, tools, resources, etc.
- 3-5 years lighting industry sales, engineering and/or technical training experience desired.
- Capable writer, who can effectively synthesize information to create training content and presentations with minimal editing oversight.
- Working knowledge of sales and marketing practices including ability to develop methods/tools to evaluate measure and revise training components including metrics, schedules and timelines.
- Visual acuity for effective presentation design. Knowledge of graphic design concepts and applications desired.
