Take the IES VideoConferencing Survey

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and InfoComm are jointly working on an ANSI Standard for lighting in videoconferencing rooms. This will be a performance standard focused on “single-axis” rooms where participants are seated opposite a set of cameras and displays for interacting with a remote site. Rooms with one or more presenter locations that would be on additional cameras (“dual-axis” or “multi-axis” rooms, such as some distance education and training rooms) are not directly included in the standard at this point, though the seating area in such rooms may be considered using the criteria anticipated for the standard.

As a part of the effort to establish performance criteria, a survey has been created to provide subjective input on images of some rooms that have been tested so that measured data can be compared with subjective evaluations. The survey consists of room images with a list of 8 questions for each room. Each question requests a simple subjective rating of 1 to 5  (or N/A for not applicable) for each quality being evaluated.

The survey will be open until the end of the day on Monday, December 10, 2012. There are 27 rooms to be evaluated in the survey, and you can expect it to take 30-60 minutes to complete. We would like as many responses as possible, so we hope you will take some time to contribute to the survey and help further the work of the cross-association committee.

Thanks for your time and assistance in making this standard better!
