9:05 pm EST. Camera just panned across the ceiling of the Superdome. The most upper bank of lights appear not to be energized. Suspect engineers are leaving those off to prevent a second power outage.
8:54 pm EST. League is pleased that the power is ramping up and full light should be returned in about 15 minutes.

8:46 pm EST: Announcer James Brown blames a power surge and says some power has been restored and some of the lights have started to come back on, he went on to say It would take about 15 minutes for the lights to recycle.
8:38 pm EST: With 13:22 left in the third quarter, approximately half of the metal halide lamps shut off. The announcers were speachless. It wasn’t just the lights. According to a sidline reporter, half of the power is out at the stadium, whicn is why the announceres had nothing to say.
