JESCO Lighting Group seeks bright, enthusiastic individual, preferably with lighting experience to manage the purchasing function. JESCO Lighting is a NY based company serving the residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, display/showcase markets.
General description of duties:
- Perform analysis of 4000+ SKU’s performance to determine inventory levels and re-order points based on historical sales data and factory lead times
- Place purchase orders with factories based on approved prices
- Expedite purchase orders as necessary
- Minimize material costs and maximize margins
- Monitor supplier performance, lead-time, pricing, quality and responsiveness
- Maintain proper inventory levels and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Resolve questions and problems between vendors, sales, operations and our customers
- Communicate with product managers and vendors on resolving defective or unacceptable goods
- Work with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoicing or payment discrepancies
- Categorize and classify products by families
Requirements Experience Preferred:
- Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing or inventory planning with knowledge of importing procedures
- Lighting product knowledge a plus
- Experience in working with companies in Asia, Europe and Mexico
- Exceptional data analysis capabilities
- Very proficient in Excel, Word, MAS 200
- MS Access experience a big plus
