Job Summary

Acuity Brands, Inc. a North American market leader and one of the world’s leading providers of lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications, is seeking highly motivated and results driven Corporate Account New Business Development Managers, reporting to the Director-Sales, within the identified Vertical Markets .

These are remote sales positions, with ideal candidates located near a major metro area with the ideal Industrial sellers residing in the US Northeast, California, or in the Southeast near the Corporate office in Conyers, GA.

This role will have HD Supply Corporate and Grainger responsibility and the candidate should have Account Management experience. This role supports customers and end users in the education and sales of lighting fixtures and controls as a full renovation solution in an effort to drive brand awareness grow market share and increase overall ABL sales in their assigned territory. Ideal candidate would be located in Southern California, as this is a remote sales position supporting the western territory and supporting HD Supply.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Makes sales calls w customers regarding lighting retrofit / renovation needs. This includes travel to onsite assessments, educating the customer, analysis of lighting needs, building environment
  • Create and analyze Return on Investment scenarios for customers. Use Lithonia tools to input customer data and parameters. Work with customer on satisfying their CTQ’s when ROI analysis is used. Create bill of materials in Agile for budgetary purposes.
  • Utilize Visual software to create visual layouts and design. Many customers require as is light level layouts as well as suggested new light levels and fixture placement  solutions in a visual format which is used in their decision making process.
  • Technical Support for Catalog Account Managers. Includes nomenclature suggestion, creation and corrections; fixture application questions; fixture option availability; sales processing assistance; market level pricing, definition and technical conversation concerning fixture/fixture components. These actions assist the end user in making correct selections and decisions for purchasing that best fits their needs.
  • Assist Catalog customers with trouble shooting information, technical assistance and problem or issue resolution by working with ABL inside support or ABL vendor support. Conflict mitigation and problem resolution w/ ABL agents when channel overlap arises on job opportunities.
  • Misc. – manage calendar, coordinating sales calls, creating presentations and material, doing expense reports, working on goals and VCO’s, training account managers, open houses, presenting at education seminars.

Requirements

6 to 8 years experience, plus the education listed below.

Technical or Associate’s Degree – Business management

IES ED150 study course completion or training.  Ability to interpret people, their statements, reactions and gestures in order to capitalize on their needs and requirements and an in depth knowledge of fixtures.

Physical Requirements  –   Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., efficiently identify and handle objects, and stand for extended periods of time.
