Manager- Energy and Environmental Standards, Acuity Brands

Acuity Brands, Inc. is a North American market leader and one of the world’s leading providers of lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications. Our corporate location, just east of Atlanta, is seeking a Manager- Energy and Environmental Standards.

This individual is responsible for influencing the development of energy and environmental codes and standards supporting Acuity product and sales strategies as well as regulatory compliance. The job requirements include developing information resources for use by agents, customers and internal personnel associated with energy and sustainability standards and trends.

In order to be successful in this role within Acuity, candidates must be comfortable in a fast paced, results driven environment. The ability to multi-task while providing attention to detail is imperative. The candidate will need to have a bias for action and a sense of urgency while focusing on making strategic decisions best for their organization.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

–          Align energy and environmental policy with product and sales strategies of Acuity Brands through active participation in regulatory and legislative processes.  Primary focus is at the federal level; however some state activities including California are expected.  This is achieved through participation in trade associations as well as company directed advocacy activities.

–          Create and support regulatory activities including technical support, product planning, and compliance administration

–          Monitor and influence energy codes and standards which have an impact on product development and sales activities of our agents and internal personnel. Achieves this by attending industry committee meetings for groups such as ASHRAE, and IESNA and actively participating in associated energy standards processes.

–          Directly support product development, marketing and sales efforts by providing assistance in the instruction of, the use of certain codes and standards. This effort may also involve the creation of web sites or electronic tools to assist in these activities.
