SAN JOSE, CA, DECEMBER 19, 2013 – Last week Xicato hosted Fashion in a New Light at the Steven Kasher Gallery in New York City in conjunction with noted fashion photographer Roxanne Lowit who was opening a new exhibit of her work. The entire event supported New York City’s Bailey House and culminated with a silent auction of fashions from Cynthia Rowley, Mara Hoffman, Lulu Guinness, Douglas Hannant, Nicholas Kirkwood, BCBG Max Azria, and Tod’s to support the charity’s work.
The evening featured models wearing designers Cynthia Rowley and Mara Hoffman on two stages lit with Xicato’s Standard, Artist and Vibrant light. Stage lighting and controls were furnished by LSI. Scenes changed at one-minute intervals providing an opportunity for the audience comprised of fashion, retail and lighting designers to compare how different types of light can affect the perception of the clothing, bring out details and richness of texture, increase the intensity of some colors and made skin tones look healthy.
While most guests were familiar with the impact of lighting, their perspective broadened as to how different choices of light could highlight clothing and feature elements that would attract shoppers. Vibrant Series light in particular piqued interest with richer, more detailed textures, brighter whites and the intensity of some colors. Guests and lighting designers for brands including Tiffany’s, Reed Krakoff, J. McLaughlin & Michael Kors were able to circle the stages and truly see fashion in a new light.
About Xicato
Xicato is changing the way the world sees and experiences light. We believe that with better light, shoppers will buy more, diners will order more and guests will be more comfortable and happier with their experiences. In turn, better lighting will contribute to higher sales, margins and brand value. Xicato has engineered new sources of light, Standard, Artist and Vibrant that capture the human preference for experiencing light in different ways and extend the range of choices for the lighting design community. The true value of Xicato light lies in delivering on the aesthetic and economic potential of LEDs: the quality of light, its efficacy and ownership cost for all environments including retail, hotels, restaurants, bars, museums and residences.
