Reports to: VP Finance
Compensation: $60-$65,000, Annual Gainshare Bonus Program
Job Summary
Prepare the financial planning, reporting, forecasting, closing and day-to-day analysis for Acuity Brands Lighting. Provide financial support for financial projections, reporting and analysis. Generate annual planning process for Acuity while assisting value stream leaders in developing and finalizing forecast. Develop presentation packages for senior management.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- 2 to 4 years relevant business experience plus the education listed below.
- Understanding P&L’s, balance sheets and other financial analyses to make sound decisions for reporting or presentations for management.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint in addition to learning new software as needed. Experience with Oracle and Hyperion a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the financial closing, reporting, analysis, and forecasting processes for each of the different Acuity value streams on a monthly basis
- Analyze operational results for variances of actual to plan and prior year for P&L and balance sheet accounts and provide financial narratives summarizing significant differences. Present results to finance and operational management.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly standard reports for value stream leaders.
- Provide financial support to the value stream leaders including financial projections, financial reporting, analysis and presentations.
- Generate annual planning process for Acuity including assisting value stream leaders in developing and finalizing forecasts and preparing presentations for senior management.
- Generate financial analyses illustrating the financial impact associated with potential new product and cost reduction initiatives and develop return on investment analysis on capital spending.
- Develop ad hoc scenarios and analysis as needed.
