OVERVIEW:

Working as a Full-Time Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing selected product lines within a certain category as well as managing the relationship with the suppliers of those products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Developing programs to coordinate on site commercial energy audits for eligible customers with our existing lighting manufacturers and energy supply companies
o Provide information to stores and customers on available incentives and details of the program
o Maintain strong ongoing communications with existing lighting manufacturers and energy supply companies to assure customer satisfaction
o Prepare status reports to accurately describe activities in the field and monitor progress towards program goals
o Meet or exceed set proposal and sales objectives
o Working closely with our sales department to insure that their needs and strategic objectives are met
o Developing marketing programs for our stores and end-users
o Introduction of standard SKU’s into our system
o Management of costing and pricing models that meet sales and profitability objectives
o Managing supplier relationships including annual contracts
o Working to insure seamless integration of products into our system
o Maintain appropriate product offering and presentation on Fastenal.com
o Development and introduction of new product lines

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Demonstrated experience in the sale and marketing of lighting products
o Experience in supplier negotiations is desired
o Experience in creating marketing and promotional programs
o Knowledge of Excel and related Microsoft Office software
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Ability to travel as necessary
o Willingness and ability to relocate to Winona, Minnesota
o Ability to travel as necessary
o Ability to pass the required drug test (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY).
