A Project Manager will represent the National Accounts operations with established corporate customers as well as contractors in the field. A Project Manager will manage a job from take off, quotation, order entry, shipment, follow up and final job walk.  A Project Manager ensures product is delivered according to established schedules and handles all customer service items. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as main point of contact between job site contractor and customer and all departments within CED
  • Prepare quotations from customer Blue-Prints and/or contractor requests
  • Review Prints for potential discrepancies and report to customer, sales representative and manager
  • Answer inbound calls and emails with the highest level of courtesy and professionalism
  • Follow-up with contractor to secure additional sales from associated project jobs
  • Provide submittal package to contractor
  • Accurate order entry including vendor purchase orders
  • Ensure shipments are expedited and tracked for on-time delivery to job sites
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies (freight claims, RGAs) 
  • Assist accounting in resolving any customer and/or vendor billing disputes
  • Maintain a complete, clear and detailed project folder for each job
  • Manage numerous customer projects at varying stages of completion simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer, vendor, sales and all internal departments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read Blue-Prints and complete take-offs
  • Ability to review bill of materials and make substitutions to maximize profitability and meet customer specifications
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to keep accurate records and be organized
  • Solid time management skills, ability to meet simultaneous time lines and set priorities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills via email and phone to a varying customer base
  • Ability to think quickly and react professionally to customers changing needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to use intranet effectively to research product and track shipments
  • Math skills that include calculating percentages, decimals and discount multipliers
  • Desire to exceed expectations and earn customer trust and confidence in one’s capabilities and performance

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years project management experience, preferred in electrical distribution industry
  • Lighting product knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Able to work on PC screens for data analysis for long periods of time
  • Able to walk, bend, stand
  • Ability to comprehend, read, and communicate the English language orally and in writing
  • Professional appearance
