Description:

MaxLite, a leader in energy-efficient lighting, is looking for a Senior Vice President of Sales to develop and deliver the company’s National Sales Plan. The candidate will drive revenue in regional, commercial and industrial, and national accounts. This position reports to our Executive Vice President. This is a newly created role to support MaxLite’s extraordinary growth in recent years.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct sales plans that meet company objectives
  • Partner with executive team to ensure necessary resources, effective communication and best possible service for MaxLite customers
  • Gain an understanding of market trends, industry opportunities and organizational capabilities to effectively implement short and long term sales strategies
  • Identify, structure and lead new sales opportunities
  • Actively participate in achieving new business; provide project support in closing sales
  • Oversee team of outside and inside sales professionals in remote locations
  • Ensure revenue and gross margin targets are surpassed; track and report revenues
  • Review accounts; establish, track and report metrics to measure performance
  • Recommend sales processes and strategies for improvement; provide leadership, guidance, coaching and support
  • Cultivate relationships with buying groups
  • Work closely with marketing, operations and human resources to align resources  
  • Develop and manage sales budget

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of sales; establishing and surpassing sales strategies
  • Lighting experience highly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in driving sales, identifying new opportunities for sales growth
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing, motivating and working successfully with all levels of sales professionals including VPs and RVPs
  • 4-year degree in business and/or MBA
  • Experience with buying groups; AD and/or IMARK highly preferred
  • Strategic thinker with ability to incorporate and manage changing business needs
  • Hands-on approach with demonstrated ability to lead and attain results from others
  • High degree of business intelligence, financial acumen and project management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
