Product Manager–A.L.P. Lighting Components

A.L.P. Lighting Components is currently recruiting for a Product Manager for its Lithia Springs, GA facility.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of business units existing products, capabilities and resources.
  • In cooperation with the product engineering function, ensure that product development efforts follow the product development process.  Participate as leader or team member in all business unit product development programs.
  • Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of the market for the Division’s products, including applications, price dynamics, and market trends through primary and secondary research and hands-on interaction with Sales and the customer base. 
  • Develops relationships with key customers and routinely coordinates on-site visits to promote synergies between all A.L.P.
  • Conduct market research to formulate ideas for new products and/or product lines as it relates to product responsibility in the business unit.
  • Utilize market information to define customer requirements, to understand competitor activities, establish market potential, to comprehend general economic conditions and other factors to develop comprehensive programs for product development. Recommend conceptual ideas, design changes, specifications, and features.
  • Develop business plans for proposed new products, product modifications, line extensions, production facilities, etc.  Establish and maintain competitive product/features/pricing spreadsheet.
  • Create and maintain the Product Plan addressing 1 year, 3 year and 5 year timelines as a blueprint for the Division’s sales and operational development.
  • Monitor sales on a monthly basis and identify significant trends and report to business manager.
  • Establish pricing strategies and guidelines with the goal of maximizing sales and gross margin dollars; Define and analyze performance of sales and marketing programs.
  • Interface directly with Customers and key Sales force members on large or strategically important project pricing levels and strategy when creating synergies for all A.L.P.
  • Drive Sales Readiness programs directly and through Corporate Marketing, including collateral materials, presentations, demos, white papers and competitive evaluations. Provide Sales and Marketing support through training, key sales calls and event support.
  • Creates promotion tools to drive additional sales.
    • Review and recommend business unit finished good inventory levels at all warehouses.
    • Establish, review, and adjust designated product line gross margins and margin contribution.
    • Assist in the financial development if capital projects including facilities, tooling, and equipment investment.

Responsible for any other special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:

  • BS Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing
  • 5+ Years experience in the Lighting Component manufacturing industry highly desired
  • Working knowledge of marketing and product management principals and product development tools required
