DES PLAINES, Ill. — September 17, 2014 — Juno Lighting Group®, a leader in high-quality commercial and residential lighting solutions, today announced that 11 of its LED luminaires were chosen as “recognized” winners – meaning the judges find them worthy of specification – in the sixth annual Next Generation Luminaires™ (NGL) Indoor Solid State Lighting (SSL) Design Competition. Announced today at The LED Show in Los Angeles, California, Juno Lighting Group’s luminaires made up about 20 percent of the 57 recognized products.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), the NGL Indoor SSL Design Competition recognizes and promotes excellence and technical innovation in the design of energy-efficient LED luminaires for commercial lighting applications. The judges evaluate each entry according to a criteria of attributes such as color quality, luminance, light distribution, glare control, serviceability and replacement, energy efficiency, power quality, lumen maintenance, dimming, value and aesthetic appearance and style.
