Regional Sales Manager–RC Lighting

POSITION OPPORTUNITY

RC Lighting, the Canadian brand of RAB Lighting Inc., the leader in LED Outdoor Lighting in North America, is committed to designing and manufacturing the highest quality LED lighting products for use on buildings, commercial sites and homes across Canada.   We are expanding our team and are seeking a top performing sales professional to join us in growing our market presence in Western Canada.  We currently have an opportunity for a Western District Sales Manager.

This position requires a highly motivated sales manager with territory sales experience in the lighting industry.  The successful candidate must have the ability to work with architects, engineers and lighting designers in their territory while working closely with manufacturer’s agent representatives in managing and developing strong relationships with the distribution channel. We require an individual who is an excellent communicator and a strategic thinker who is technically minded and has a demonstrated ability to work independently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales through specifiers, architects, rep agents, distributors, contractors and ESCOS
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors while cultivating respect, support and establishing the foundation of business
  • Visit customer locations with enough frequency to develop rapport with key decision makers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry allies as directed
  • Ability to lead product training events both at the corporate training facility and in the territory
  • Keep management informed on key territory activity
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, strengths and weaknesses, key relationships and other pertinent information
  • Participate in industry trade associations as identified and directed.
  • Live within the defined territory and in close proximity to a major airport
  • Travel up to 70%
  • Reports to National Sales Manager 

Qualifications:

  • University or college education preferred
  • Five year minimum outside lighting sales experience calling on architects, distributors, contractors and end users accounts
  • LC accreditation an asset
  • Proven and verifiable track record of success in sales
  • Outgoing personality and professional appearance
  • Competitive “ Self- starter “ with ability to manage time effectively and with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Leadership skills, which will promote and build a team concept for servicing the customer
  • Experience selling at multiple levels and identifying organization decision makers
  • Thorough understanding of major market channels and segments
  • Verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills and joint sales call experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
  • Competent and proficient in the use of computers and data base software including but not limited to Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Salesforce 

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience including Base salary, Incentive Plan, Automobile Allowance and Employee Benefit Program.
