Tonight, over 800 lighting professionals will gather at Chelsea Piers for the 47th Annual IESNYC Lumen Awards. The cocktail reception starts at 6pm, but your humble editor will be there for a pre-party press conference a bit earlier. Our EdisonReport.TV camera crew will be hard at work covering the event with interviews, candid shots, and a few comments from the award winners. We have 26 sources attending so we expect much coverage. We’ll be posting information and pictures real-time on Facebook (EdisonReport) and Twitter (@EdisonReport) We’ll be using the same hashtag as last year (#lumenawards)
The Lumen Awards Gala is the best night in lighting. Personally, I love it because so many of the industry leaders are gathered in one spot, for a wonderful night of fun and festivities. But don’t let the social aspect give the wrong impression. Much business is conducted at Lumen. Manufacturers are checking out potential reps and vice-versa. As a reporter, I pick up much material that keeps our team busy for many months.
There is no single better night in all of lighting!
