Brodrick Announces More Money from DOLED

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science plans to announce a funding opportunity on August 17, 2015, for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs. Under this grant opportunity, DOE will seek applications for funding directed toward FY16 Phase I projects. Topics for this funding opportunity can be found at https://science.energy.gov/sbir/funding-opportunities and include “High Efficiency Materials for Solid-State Lighting,” covering both LED and OLED source technologies (see topic 7).

A two-hour webinar to review topics 1–15 will be held Thursday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. ET. You must register for the webinar in order to attend or to receive a link to the recorded webinar if you cannot attend in person. A webinar to review the SBIR/STTR programs and the award process as it relates to this announcement is scheduled for Friday, August 21, followed by a second, administrative webinar on Friday, August 28, that addresses important changes to the way indirect overhead rates are calculated and proposed; registration information will be posted soon at https://science.energy.gov/sbir/funding-opportunities.

Qualified small businesses with strong research capabilities in science or engineering in any of the research areas sought in the announcement are encouraged to apply for the SBIR/STTR funding opportunity. Applicants must submit a letter of intent by September 8, 2015, in order to be eligible to submit a full application by October 19.
