A Who’s Who of Network Security Technology Conference to be held Concurrent with L+B

Conference speakers at Intersec Forum reflect who’s who in networked security technology

Two conference days, featuring talks, discussion forums, guided tours and time for the industry’s business discussions

Intersec Forum concurrently with leading international trade fair Light + Building

The speakers and discussion-panel members at the first smart security conference, Intersec Forum, have been chosen. On 14 and 15 March 2016 around 20 experts from industry, the electrical trade, services,  authorities and legal consultancy will be discussing the latest challenges to electronically driven security technology in the context of intelligent buildings, including experts from Bosch, Busch-Jaeger, Honeywell and Siemens, and from two central associations, the ZVEH and ZVEI.

Under the chairmanship of Ranga Yogeshwar, the decision makers will be discussing the problems of competing standards, the prioritisation of systems, cyber security, and how to cope with user data in smart building. In providing a current view of the industry’s future preoccupations, Intersec Forum will be particularly addressing manufacturers, building-automation suppliers, fitters and regulators working in security technology.

On the first conference day Intersec Forum will provide its participants with in-depth talks, panel discussions and discussion forums with top-speakers. The second conference day will start with an incentive discussion on architectural aspects, leading to a practical part: With three guided tours, each under the direction of experts from the ZVEI, Intersec Forum will guide its participants directly to providers of the latest security technology who are exhibiting with this product focus at Light + Building – the leading international trade fair for lighting and building services technology. The conference offers English speaking participants an English language interpretation service.

The breaks and a social get-together on the first evening at Intersec Forum will also provide a pleasant ambience for professional networking.

Talks and discussions on the networked future

On the first conference day Uwe Bartmann, Managing Director Building Technologies Siemens, will ask: “The world of buildings meets the world of security: who dictates the ‘rules of play’?” Michael Wanka, Customer Consultant Security Manager – Germany South, Honeywell Building Solutions GmbH, will take his cue from there and speak on “Intelligent building and security management for businesses and critical infrastructures.” Dr. Björn Reineke, Partner, OC&C Strategy Consultants, will consider the digitalisation of building automation, casting fresh light on new business models for security technology.

These individual talks will be followed by a panel discussion on the increase in complex networked building service technology: here Johannes Hauck, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Hager Group, Lothar Hellmann, President, ZVEH, Dr. Gregor Schlechtriem, Head of the Building Security Division, Bosch Security Systems, and Uwe Behm, member of the Messe Frankfurt Board of Management, will discuss how developers, fitters and customers need to be supported. The conflict of objectives between increasing networking and potentially higher systemic risk will be the topic of the panel discussion in which Bernhard Dörstel, Global Product Group Manager Building Automation, Busch-Jaeger Elektro, Ingo Schönberg, Chairman of the Management Board, Power Plus Communication, Dr. Thorsten Henkel, Principal Departmental Head, Fraunhofer SIT, and Jens Wiesner, expert on security in networked systems, BSI, will be taking part. The conference day will close with an incentive talk and dispute about “Data ownership, data security and the ‘human factor’ in a networked world”, including among others the well-known social commentator Sascha Lobo, with Dr. Klaus Mittelbach, Chairman of the Management Board, ZVEI, and Dr. Jochen Stockburger, partner, Menold Bezler Attorneys.

Guided Tours to providers of modern security technology

The second conference day will be devoted entirely to new and concrete developments in security technology for smart building: following an introductory exchange on the topic between Dr. Matthias Alexander, Head of the Rhine-Main Department of the F.A.Z. national daily newspaper, with Claudia Meixner of MEIXNER SCHLÜTER WENDT Architects, the participants, under the instruction of experts, and having chosen a main topic of their own, can be guided to the security-technology exhibitors at Light + Building.

With three guided tours in the morning, and repeated in the afternoon, Intersec Forum will be taking its participants to the innovators in security technology. The following focal topics are available for selection:

Guided Tour A – Security through lighting: Emergency escape route lighting and emergency lighting control

Guided Tour B – Building installations and security: Surveillance and access control

Guided Tour C – Control centres in practice: Visit to the Messe Frankfurt Operation and Security Centre (OSC).

Organiser Messe Frankfurt collaborating with ZVEI

Networked security technology in the context of smart buildings is becoming increasingly relevant: the rise in digitalisation and networking of buildings is raising questions for manufacturers of security technology, developers, fitters and building-automation providers about holistic integration. Messe Frankfurt will be taking up this trend, in order to offer, for the first time in Germany, an event on topics of security technology – in strategic collaboration with the ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers´ Association, www.zvei.org).

Messe Frankfurt contributes to the global security market in its Safety and Security trade-fair portfolio by providing currently eleven events with a market-specific focus in South America, Africa, Europe, and particularly in the Middle East and Asia. These include the leading international trade fairs Intersec and Secutech: Intersec, the leading international fair for security and fire protection, takes place annually in January in Dubai (UAE). Secutech is the annual platform for the international security industry in Taipei (Taiwan) in April. Further information at: www.safety-security.messefrankfurt.com

Intersec Forum 2016 to be held at the same time as Light + Building

The coordination in time and linkage in space between Intersec Forum and the leading international trade fair for lighting and building services technology will be appealing for visitors from trade businesses, and from planning, construction and development in the industries concerned. Around 150 exhibitors have displayed their security-technology products at Light + Building and are in addition showcasing this focus of their work both at the fair and, in the interests of visitor orientation, in a special list. In addition, parts of the complementary programme will be tailored to topics and expert talks involving the development and practice of security technology. Around 2,500 exhibitors, including all market leaders, will exhibit in Frankfurt from 13 to 18 March 2016. Full information at: www.light-building.com.

Background information ZVEI

The ZVEI represents the joint interests of the electronics industry and the services business belonging to it in Germany and at international level. Around 1,600 businesses, mostly medium-sized companies, have opted for membership in the ZVEI.

The industry employs 851,000 workers in Germany and more than 680,000 world-wide. In 2014 the industry’s sales revenues amounted to around 172 billion Euros. One new development out of three in manufacturing industry overall gains its original incentive from the electronics industry. Further information: www.zvei.org
