Janie Lynn, R.I.P.

JANIE LYNN We celebrate the passing of a wonderful woman. Janie Lynn passed Saturday, June 6, 2016. Janie Lynn was born Aug. 27, 1944, in Cleveland. Janie was an entrepreneur and leader her whole life. After 18 years in the jewelry business and traveling alone with a fortune of jewels and gold, she became one of the earliest founders of LED Lighting, starting LED, Inc. and Turboflare International. Her priority has been to continue the business so her family of employee’s can continue their livelihood and Janie’s legacy. Giving back to her community was of high importance to Janie.

She was a dedicated Rotarian becoming an honorary member in 2016. Janie started the Coats for Kids program in Woodland Hills, Calif., served as president of the Sunset Club and started the Annual Soar program honoring men and women from 20 service agencies in the Las Vegas valley.

Her dedication to education, fairness and generosity have been an inspiration to those who have been lucky enough to call her mom, grandma and friend. She is survived by her two children, Richard and Suzanne; and grandson, Thomas, whom she raised from age four, son of her deceased daughter, Alycia. She has five additional grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, who brought great joy to her life. Janie’s wishes were to be remembered for her life and vibrancy, not mourned for her passing. We will be having a celebration of life in July.
