Another Conference…LEDs Magazine to Launch July Conference on Lighting for Health and Wellbeing

Welcome to the LEDs Magazine Lighting for Health & Wellbeing Newsletter for Mar. 20, 2017. We are in the planning stages for our first ever dedicated conference focused on lighting for health and wellbeing. The event will take place July 27 in Newport Beach, CA. Email LEDs Magazine editor Maury Wright ([email protected]) if you have an idea for a presentation.

Europe continues to move faster than the rest of the globe in rolling out lighting intended to boost productivity, improve sleep patterns, and/or enhance comfort. And the regulatory community is playing a part in establishing directives that encourage tunable lighting and networked controls that are key enablers of the application. Our Mark Halper recently wrote a feature article examining such European Union regulatory priorities.

The LightingEurope organization has also been very aggressive in the health-centric application segment and continues to prominently use the phrase human-centric lighting (HCL) to describe the application. Indeed, LightingEurope joined with the IALD to author a position paper on HCL that both defines the application and establishes tenets that are core to the mission.
