BRENTWOOD, TN, June 30, 2020—The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) has awarded a Presidential Award to Randy Reid, President of LuxxDirect.
The awards are normally presented during the IES Annual Conference which has now moved to a virtual format because of the pandemic. Other award winners were Fred Oberkircher for the Louis B. Marks Award, Ron Gibbons, Medal Award and James Benya, Distinguished Service Award.
The Presidential Awards citation reads: Randy is recognized for advocating transparency and communication in our industry by consistently prioritizing the engagement and connection of lighting professionals through EdisonReport and the National Lighting Bureau.
Although the commendation refers to Randy’s work through these well-established and well-respected organizations, Reid also brings the same practices to his other companies, namely LuxxDirect and LumEfficient.
After receiving the award, Reid stated, “I am humbled and honored to receive this award from the hard-working people of the IES. They continue to lift up our industry in these trying times.” This Reid’s second IES Presidential Award. His first was received in 2011.
Libby Morley, formerly of LightFair, the number one tradeshow in North America, commented, “Congratulations on a well-deserved honor.”
