DALLAS – October 2, 2020 – CEDIA, the global trade association for the residential technology industry, has announced the finalists for its 2020 CEDIA Awards, recognizing outstanding projects in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions that offer technical excellence and product innovation. Among 20 finalists for the Americas region, CEDIA has recognized Dallas Market Center’s Smarter Living by Design, the first smart home showroom in North America showcasing a range of best-in-class brands spanning technology categories from lighting, audio/video, appliances and artificial intelligence.
The groundbreaking open-daily exhibit launched at the June 2019 Total Home & Gift Market and Lightovation shows at Dallas Market Center and was coordinated by Dallas-based CEDIA member HomeTronics. Spearheaded by Samsung, the space also features other international leaders in home technology, including Crestron, Basalte, Future Automation, CinemaTech, LumaStream, Koa Technology Group, Kaleidescape and California Audio Technology. Located on the 10th floor of the Dallas World Trade Center in WTC 10085, it was also the site of the world premiere for the BRYTE smart bed.
“We carefully selected the best brands from around the world for this first-of-its-kind showcase that will attract buyers from across North America,” said Greg Margolis, president of HomeTronics. “Dallas Market Center is an exceptional venue for connecting home technology with the design industry.”
Smarter Living by Design has been updated since its debut to keep pace with the latest innovations, including Samsung’s Frame TV and The Wall modular microLED display. The exhibit was also recently expanded by 25% to encompass an Executive Briefing Center for Samsung, which will have its grand opening on October 15.
The 2020 CEDIA Awards for all divisions will be presented during an all-day, all-virtual celebration on Thursday, October 8, culminating in the presentation of the Americas awards at 7 p.m. CDT. Register to attend at https://cedia.net/membership/get-involved/awards.
