Wave Lighting, a 60 year-old Mid-West manufacture in the residential and commercial lighting market, is looking to expand its sales department in order to increase market reach. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, be professional and enjoy working with people. The candidate should have desire for a long-term career. The main office is in St. Louis, MO.
We hire for attitude and a strong work ethic. Our ideal candidate has worked in the lighting industry with experience with architects, electrical engineers, electrical distributors and has background with lighting design and engineering. A self-starter and who wants to go the extra mile for their customers and the company, is important. We will provide comprehensive training on our products and assist with technical skills necessary for the job. Experience as a RSM or DSM is not critical but a plus. Involvement with the IES or other lighting industry group is helpful.
The candidate should live in the Midwest, Texas and Chicagoland are preferred.
The role of the Regional Sales Manager is to:
- Meet and exceed sales goals in assigned territory
- Manage a group of independent sales agents
- Be responsible for generating demand in products and identifying business opportunities
- with reps and within customer base
- Work closely with other members of the team to ensure full engagement in the entire
- sales process
- Strive to achieve long term relationships with customers by ‘value-add’ selling
- techniques
- Keep up to date on product information and industry trends
- Perform lighting layouts using Visual or AGI32
- Provide accurate assistance and advice to team members, customers and
- representative
- Conducts training meetings with reps at their office and with webinars
- Provide insights for the improvement of sales
- Ensure that Sales Agents meet or exceed sales targets
- Maintains contact with all customers in the territory area to ensure high levels of
- customer satisfaction
The ideal candidate, we are looking for:
- 5-7 years of experience in lighting sales and/or management or has been actively working within the electrical industry
- Existing relationships with specifiers, distributors and other customers is a plus
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
- Excellent communication skills.
- Personable positive attitude
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work individually and as a team member
- Ability to learn and develop sales strategies that clearly define goals and strategies
- Can generate reports with Excel and generate PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to travel 30% within the territory
