On 28 NOV, EdisonReport wrote an article, Is Light +Building at Risk? A week later L+B published a press release that the show was not at risk. Their website said, “This means we will Definitely hold Light + Building in 2022.”
Today we received a mixed message from Light + Building. Early in the email, they say they are “…Looking forward with great confidence to L+B in MAR 2022.” (good sign for the show), then they immediately say decisions have to be reviewed again and again. (bad sign for the show). In the next paragraph they state, “Our discussions have clearly shown that a Light + Building will definitely take place in 2022…” (good sign for the show). In the fourth paragraph, they state, “We will make a timely decision in January in the interest of a successful international Light + Building.” (bad sign for the show.)
Below is the email we received in full.

Dear Randy Reid,
You have recently received our information that, in close consultation with our cooperation partners and following discussions with customers at home and abroad, we are looking forward with great confidence to Light + Building in March 2022. Due to the unforeseeable enormous dynamics in the development of the pandemic, decisions have to be reviewed again and again.
Close exchange is a well-established instrument for us to take account of the broadest range of views as possible and to capture many voices.
However, our discussions have clearly shown that a Light + Building will definitely take place in 2022, as essential parts of the industry and sectors involved need it.
The concrete date 2022 will, thus, be decided depending on further developments. Please be assured that we will act responsibly and find a solution as quickly as possible.
We will make a timely decision in January in the interest of a successful international Light + Building. Together with our partners and exhibitors’ representatives, we are intensively examining all possible options.
We will, of course, contact you in January as soon as we have further information.
We thank you for your commitment and wish you a Merry Christmas and a good start into a healthy New Year 2022.
Kind regards
Your Light + Building Team
