Palmdale, California (February 22, 2022) – U.S. Pole Co., a leading American manufacturer of area and street lighting, announced that George Preston has been appointed Chief Executive Officer by the board of directors effective immediately. Under its brands, U.S. Architectural and Sun Valley Lighting, U.S. Pole Co. offers contemporary and traditional artistic luminaires with high photometric performance. Its proprietary designs and LED lenses meet the requirements of the Buy Back America Act.
Preston, is a recognized leader in the lighting industry with more than 30 years of experience. During that time, he has served in a variety of roles with fiscal, strategic, operational and product development responsibilities. Preston started his lighting career with Philips lamp. He has served as Vice President and General Manager of Day-Brite (now a Signify brand) and Architectural Area Lighting (now a division of GE Current), as well as president and CEO of Burton Medical and Permlight Technologies.
Joining U.S. Pole Co. in June 2021 as the Chief Operations Officer, Preston was responsible for factory operations, product development, marketing and sales. Throughout his career, Preston has established a reputation for creating work environments that foster innovation as a path to successful product launches. Ever vigilant of potential improvements to the bottom line, he has also been credited with improving order to cash cycle, leveraging the supply chain to yield inventory reduction and improved customer order fill rates, and implementing lean business transformation, including agile automation.
Preston is a certified business coach and a member of the IES. He earned his BS in physics from Bucknell University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
