Dawn brings decades of impeccable work in the lighting industry to The Lighting Agora and extends the services offered to include Technical Editing.

“I’m thrilled that Dawn has decided to join our group. In my years working with her, I was always stunned by her passion and attention to detail in the very specific and difficult role of technical editor. Especially now, our industry requires people with her unique skill set. She is quite frankly the absolute best technical editor I have ever known as well as being a fabulous co-worker and team player. Welcome, Dawn” stated Tom Butters, Executive Director of The Lighting Agora.

Over 3 decades, Dawn worked as a volunteer member of the IES, receiving the IES Distinguished Service Award in 2012. In 2016 she joined the IES staff as Technical Editor where she worked relentlessly in reviewing all of their technical documents to ensure consistency, correctness, proper use of terminology, and correct formatting of mathematical expressions.

About Lighting Agora
During the pandemic of 2020–2021, the Lighting Agora was founded by Tom Butters as a consortium of industry experts to provide the global lighting community with high level direction and support. In the spirit of the ancient Greek Agora, it is the meeting place where those with lighting challenges can be united with individuals with specific expertise in solving those challenges. Above all it, is a place where anyone in the lighting industry, whether starting out or in retirement, can “learn, earn and return”.
