Job Description:
Function as a product lead to manage and grow MaxLite’s c-Max Lighting Controls portfolio and any other assigned product categories
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust multi-year controls roadmap including new product launches
- Collaborate with Engineering, other category product managers and key industry organizations to develop technology roadmap and provide strategic direction for innovative growth opportunities
- Gather, organize, and conduct Voice of Customer (VOC). Develop insights, create business cases, and set clear priorities to bring most impactful product introductions for the category
- Establish deep understanding of competition, channels, pricing, and customers for their product line and execute strategies to offset competitive threats
- Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to identify solutions that will reliably operate in a wide range of installed environments
- Identify strong technology partners to jointly collaborate on hardware and software needs
- Drive strong customer engagement by providing product and application support
- Manage product lifecycles from concept to obsolescence, phasing out products as market viability drops, bringing in new products to lead the market and/or fill portfolio gaps
- Establish value-based pricing to maintain healthy margins. Update pricing plans regularly based on market data, sales feedback, product sales performance and competitive pricing intelligence
- Bring high level of expertise in the existing product portfolio while supporting sales (technical and application related questions) and conducting regular training/education on product features, selling points, competitive considerations for both internal and external customers
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to devise promotion and stocking program and provide support for marketing collateral for products including videos, pamphlets, brochures, catalog pages, data sheets\
- Provide sales forecasts, competitive analysis, and other insights to guide product launch, pricing, and inventory management strategy to keep a healthy portfolio
- Provide support to customer relations team when providing quotes and bills of material
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Electrical or Systems engineering) with 5+ years of product management, engineering, or relevant lighting controls experience
- Experience with control technology protocols such as Bluetooth, Wifi, Zigbee a must
- Lighting experience with developing and managing IoT solutions and services highly desirable
- Exceptional ability to understand customer needs and market technology trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills and deadline driven while being collaborative and emotionally intelligent
- Results oriented with strong ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented with strong presentation skills (need to be comfortable in front of customers)
