To be eligible for the Entrepreneur Of The Year program, the entrepreneur must be the CEO or president of a private or public company and must have held that role for at least two years by the application deadline. As for the company, it must be at least two years old and must demonstrate long-term value to be considered. Only for-profit businesses are eligible to apply. The independent panel of judges evaluates nominees based on various criteria, including entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, impact, and financial performance, among others. The overall national winner has the honor of representing the United States at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year competition the following June.
