EdisonReport has learned that Billy Hodges, Principal, Digital Filaments is closing the company at the end of the year. I spoke with Billy today and he expressed gratitude to the manufacturers, customers, and employees who have worked with him the last 11 years. Billy explained, “The agency landscape in the Philadelphia market has always been tough. We offered an alternative to the mostly larger, established agencies; but with all the regionalization on the rep side and M&A activity on the manufacturer side, I decided that being a smaller, more curated agent was not the path for me going forward. At the moment, I’m wide open to the universe in search of a great fit for my next chapter.”
Billy further stated that he is exploring multitudes of opportunities, some of which are in the lighting industry. Billy mentioned the word gratitude many times in our conversation and said he is working behind the scenes to open doors for his employees with various companies.
