A new addition, Part 306, to the IEC 62386 standard for DALI-based input devices has been released, focusing on sensors that provide various measurements to lighting control systems. It includes a comprehensive list of over 50 detectable quantities such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and chemical concentrations like methane, CO2, and NOx, along with corresponding measurement units. It’s not yet available for purchase but will soon be. Part 306 will join DALI-2 certification in 2024. Other sensor parts (303, 304) are already certified.
