Denver, CO, January 19, 2024 — Resource Lighting of New Mexico will soon become a subsidiary of The MH Companies of Colorado and will be known as Resource Lighting, an MH Company. MH and Resource are both Current HLI agents and share several other brands across their line cards. Additionally, they both share a customer-focused business philosophy and culture, so the merger is expected to be smooth and successful.
The MH Companies was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Denver Colorado. A premier lighting agency in Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska for over 50 years, MH more recently expanded into Idaho, Montana, and northern Wyoming. A customer-focused agency that is nationally recognized for developing cutting edge project management processes, MH is focused on maintaining high levels of customer service and keeping their promises.
Scott Jackson of MH said, “We at MH are all very excited about this merger. Resource is a great company with a stellar reputation that I think will blend nicely with the MH culture. There have been many changes in our industry over the last decade regarding agency size; there are now some monster sized agencies out there. This deal will take the MH footprint from Mexico to Canada in the heart of the West, where we live. It’s a good size for us, not too big. We have a centrally based service model with a distributed sales force and I believe the addition of Resource will fit into our model nicely without the risk of losing our smaller company culture.”
Resource Lighting has been successfully owned and operated by the Rice and Curtis families since it was founded in 1999. Recognized as an elite agency in the New Mexico and El Paso, TX markets, Resource Lighting has found its success in a customer centric model with an emphasis on cultivating, growing, and maintaining strong relationships. In alignment with their core values, this merger was the logical next step in growing the agency for the next 30 years.
Wayne Rice of Resource said, “Resource is delighted to join forces with The MH Companies as it will allow us to maintain our small company values focused on employees and customers. The territory is slated for tremendous growth in the coming years, and we will now be equipped to navigate any challenges that come with continued growth and market changes. We have a strong sense of gratitude for what we have built, and we are excited to see what the future holds.”
With the primary terms of the deal settled, the merger is expected to be completed in the first half of 2024. Details and legalities are all that remain and more information on the operational side of this deal will be available once the merger is finalized.
