What We Are Looking For:

We are currently seeking an experienced, self-directed Field Service Technician to join our team. This role will service the Southern California territory and is hybrid in function. Administrative work, scheduling, and job affiliated communication will be handled remotely. Service technician duties will be handled on job sites.

JOB TITLE: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Controls Service + Sales Manager

Location: Southern California

Position Overview:

The Field Service Technician acts as a comprehensive resource and support for contractors, distributors, and factories. This individual must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge on low voltage systems, programming, power systems, and networking principles. The Field Service Technician is responsible for programming lighting control systems during the startup process, providing troubleshooting solutions, and ensuring an excellent customer experience is delivered throughout the entirety of the process.

Duties + Responsibilities:

  • Provide start-up and continued service for lighting control manufacturers
  • Leverage problem solving skills to identify solutions and provide direction on lighting control system technical issues, including but not limited to installation and adjustments to programming
  • Provide control programming, testing, investigation and analysis in the field
  • Ensure all field service conditions and issues are properly communicated to customers whether they are on or off site
  • Maintain and communicate daily progress report to the field service coordinator

Skills + Specifications:

  • Possess knowledge of low voltage systems and logic programming
  • Maintain understanding of electrical power systems and basic networking principles
  • Ability to read and understand building and control drawings and keep abreast of information pertaining to local energy codes and compliance regulations
  • Maintain a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously without compromising quality of service or deadline adherence
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in electrical and or low voltage systems
  • Possess a valid CA driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
  • Ability to work a flex schedule with occasional requirements to work outside of traditional business hours
  • Ability to travel, with overnight stay potential
  • Comfortable working on construction job sites: at times bending and working in confined spaces with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Compensation Package Information

Below is a reasonable compensation estimate. This estimate is inclusive of a wide range of factors considered when making compensation decisions; including but not limited to industry experience, work history and length thereof, education level and area of expertise, and organizational and business needs.

A reasonable estimate of the current compensation package is $80,000-$100,000 base salary, plus bonus potential and profit-sharing contribution.
