EdisonReport Media Network: A Commitment to Quality

EdisonReport Media Network

Over the past few years, EdisonReport Media Network has become the leading voice and advocate for the lighting industry. We’ve experienced explosive growth, launching multiple platforms including designing lighting (dl), the leading architectural lighting magazine in North America, as well as the number one daily lighting podcast, TodayinLighting.com, and most recently designing lighting global (dlg). To ensure we balance that growth with an unwavering commitment to quality, we are implementing a series of enhanced procedures to ensure the highest standards across all our publications.

Addressing the Issue

Recently, one of our contributors—out of the 79 who have written for designing lighting (dl)—copied content from at least 26 sources, including competitors. That action does not meet the high standards we hold ourselves accountable to and will not be tolerated. We acted immediately by terminating the contributor, issuing personal apologies to the affected competitors, and removing all the contributor’s work from our platforms. Additionally, on 7 AUG, we issued a public apology to address the situation transparently.

Our continued focus will be on the growth and success of the lighting industry, not our competitors. As such, we have taken multiple bold steps to ensure the integrity of our content.

Strengthening Our IT Platform and Checks and Balances

Moving forward, we have invested in software that uses AI to scan all content for potential issues before it goes to press.

Strengthening Our Editorial Guidelines

We are reinforcing our editorial guidelines and offering a comprehensive training program to all our contributors. Furthermore, we have established a direct email address, [email protected], where anyone can contact our publisher if they notice anything inappropriate or concerning.

Enhanced Editorial Review

We are pleased to announce that industry veteran Paul Tarricone has agreed to serve as an editorial ombudsman for designing lighting (dl) magazine. Paul will review each issue before publication, adding another layer of quality control.

Looking Ahead

We are not stopping here. As EdisonReport Media Network continues to grow, we will explore new technologies and further refine our processes. Over time, we aim to evolve from an organization with informal practices into a media company recognized for best-in-class policies and procedures. This transformation will ensure that we consistently deliver the high-quality content our lighting audience deserves.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, please contact me directly at [email protected]. Moving forward, you can be assured that all of us at the EdisonReport Media Network are committed to bringing you the most current and relevant information available in the lighting industry.
